I had no idea what to do with my writing after att I had no idea what to do with my writing after attending writing retreats where they talked about writing, not marketing. Often, the “retreats” depleted me physically, and I would end up in a doctor’s office and share a new story with them—or the support staff…Mary’s Marketing Plan. I always made story copies to share. 😃 I went to see one of those doctors today. It had been two years.This doctor had told me she loved the story two years ago! She had also seen my mother after I had asked for an exception.I had my Joy Mining proof copy today. (A proof copy “looks like the real book” and is the last time changes can be made before publication.)Should I ask her to read the book? There were very few mistakes. Had I used up my “ask” for my mom? I didn’t know…As I considered my options, I put my Joy Mining proof copy in a chair next to me.The doctor opened the door, and I opened my mouth and grabbed the book. “I finished Joy Mining and wanted you to have a copy!” A big smile crossed her face, as she answered. “I am so excited to read this!”I was honored by her great gift of time!And so glad I had made the brave choice.May we all be brave in those moments when it really counts…I will remember the moment forever.I signed my first Joy Mining copy as I heard again from my doctor I hadn’t seen in two years! ” I’m so excited about this!”💕👒😃👏

Afterlife... 😇🌸😇❤️🌸😇 Not long ago... I was sitting Afterlife... 😇🌸😇❤️🌸😇 Not long ago... I was sitting in my green, rusty, metal chair musing about life and the glorious day ahead... Suddenly, my vintage chair broke in two with me in it and decided to go over the edge of the porch! Airborne!No one is prepared for such a journey.Boom! In a second I was catapulted over the cement ledge and looking up from the ground at a blue sky dotted with clouds.And then this tall figure was standing over me calling my name. “Mary, are you all right?” My head WAS a little fuzzy. I thought he might be God... And I was now in heaven!!!No, he was my kind neighbor who had come to check on the noise he had heard. His long arm reached down and helped me out of that broken chair. And I left that chair right where his kindness had helped me out of it. But the rusty, thoroughly broken chair, needed a little memorial... A Goodwill one...I am so grateful for the kindness of “strangers”...aren’t you?❤️‍🩹 And a little more time this side of Heaven! 😇#storytelling #MaryLesterStoryteller
